"WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FOR MY FIRST MASSAGE?"
PSALMS 139: 14-16
Upon your arrival, you will be asked to complete a brief health questionnaire in the lobby. This is primarily to inform your therapist of any relevant information, such as current injuries, past car accidents, or significant medical conditions. Once completed, you will be guided to the treatment room where you will have a private discussion with your therapist about the intake form and your objectives for the session. This process is not a test and there are no incorrect answers. Our aim is to understand you and your specific needs to better prepare for the session.

Before the massage begins, your therapist will instruct you on how to position yourself on the table and the level of undress that is appropriate. While certain types of massage may be more challenging to perform with clothing, your comfort is our priority. Most clients choose to undress fully while keeping their undergarments on, though some prefer to be completely nude. If you wish to remain fully clothed, that is also acceptable. Regardless of your choice, you will be professionally and securely covered with sheets.
Once on the table, your primary task is to relax and breathe. If you experience any discomfort, pain, or dissatisfaction with any aspect of the massage, please communicate this to your therapist. Do not assume that discomfort is normal or that the therapist knows best. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to express them. You are the expert on your own body, so trust your instincts and communicate with your therapist. The initial sessions will help both you and your therapist understand how your body responds to treatment.
During your massage, feel free to relax, sleep, snore, or converse. There is no need to assist your therapist by moving your limbs; simply remain relaxed and at ease on the table. If your therapist requires assistance for a specific technique, such as Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), they will inform you.
Please note that we are unconcerned with aspects such as body hair, wrinkles, cellulite, scars (we specialize in that!) or any natural sounds your stomach may produce-which are normal and part of the relaxation response. Our therapists work with numerous clients daily and there is nothing wrong with being human on our tables. If you perceive any flaws in your body, rest assured that we do not share this view.
After the massage concludes, our primary goal is to ensure you leave feeling relaxed. Your therapist may inquire about how you feel or how your range of motion compares to when you first arrived. You may also receive recommendations for stretches or exercises. We will then handle payment and inquire if you wish to schedule your next session either today or online, before seeing you on your way.
Set aside your worries, aches and pains, take a deep breath, and clear your mind. At LUDUS, you're in the hands of kind and thoughtful therapists who genuinely care about you and your needs. Any questions? Don't hesitate to ask.
